The Philbrook Museum Bridal guide:

Why the Philbrook is my go-to for European inspired sessions?

If you're wanting either couple or bridal portraits that embody the countryside of Italy without the cost or travel time, the Philbrook Museum of Art is a great option and here is your go to Philbrook Museum Bridal Guide!! Located in the heart of Tulsa, OK it offers the European inspired architecture along with an expansive garden to peruse. You get 2 hours to have the grounds to yourself which is perfect for bridal, engagement, or couple sessions. If you're coming from Northwest Arkansas, the drive is a breeze!

Let's talk practicals- how to get the grounds all to yourself for a bridal or engagement session?

  1. First book your photographer!! This is the most important step and get's the ball rolling!! I would LOVE to document your story. Inquire here

  2. For photographers-- Inquire with the Museum for an after hours pass or open hours pass. The after hours pass will grant you 2 hours in the outside gardens to explore for $250. This will be after the museum closes, so no people will be there!! The open hours pass grants you 1 hours in the gardens during the day for $50. A great option on a budget, but at the cost of people being around you.

  3. Schedule your date AT LEAST 3 weeks before. The after hours sessions are only offered Morning Sessions (7am-9am, Wednesday through Sunday) and Evening Sessions (5pm-Dusk, Wednesday through Sunday, excluding Friday). They also fill up fast, especially during peak seasonal months, so coordinate with me at least a month out.

  4. Dream onnnn!! This is the fun part of the planning process. What to wear? What to bring? The museum grounds has so much to offer that you don't need to bring much. One good option is to bring a bouquet or floral piece. The Flowerslinger provided the bouquet for this session, and it was the perfect touch that elevated this shoot.

  5. Day of!! Let's play some music, run around the gardens, and have fun.

  6. Bonus tip: add on a roll of film! For this bridal session we added on a roll of 120 mm film and it brought a vintage nostalgic feel to the photos, and I was obsessedddd.
